Freebie

17hh fleabitten grey ‘Cyprus thoroughbred’ 21 years old thinks he’s 5.  Used as lead horse by me usually – won the All Island (Cyprus!!) 2 day event in 2005. Has been dressage/show jumping/cross country horse all his life – this is his retirement and he loves it - lovely ride.  Suit very experienced rider.

Amazingly, for such a big boy who is so willing to be in front on a hack, Freebie is pretty much bottom of the peck order in the paddock!

Maple Shadow

12 year old 16hh chestnut gelding – another darling – also for children or will give experienced rider a great day.  Will walk past anything, even pigs!  Lovely ride – gentle soul. Will look after even the most nervous.  Walks if you need him to, when the others go for a canter!  Golddust!

In the paddock he keeps out of trouble but comes in about No 3 in the peck order.

Farouk

12 year old 16hh TB dark bay gelding – steady ride – I put the children on him – but will do dressage for experienced rider and lovely ride for all levels.  A real gentleman.

He stands no nonsense in the paddock and is Mr Assertive, but will not start any trouble – he is usually No 2 in the peck order.

Levantino

15 year old 16hh TB dark bay – lovely quiet ride – similar to Farouk.

Levantino is forward going and independent, but a lovely quiet ride.  He suits novice and advanced riders.  In the paddock he is not bullied, nor is he a bully – Mr Negotiator   I think!

Harry

5 year old 16hh bay gelding – will carry 90kg – needs rider with some experience for most enjoyment – very comfortable can go ‘Western’ - will follow quietly if rider is novice.

He is Mr Bossy Boots in the paddock and the others simply move out of his way without complaint or discussion!  He was backed and hacked in the same week – he was on page 25 when I was only on page 2!  He is a quick learner and just loves his job.  He is loved by all and a sweetheart to ‘do’.

Eclipse

15hh anglo-arab chestnut.  Backed in autumn - has been out on rides in training and going well on the lead and in the school.

He is on a vertical learning curve in the paddock – out for the first time with the big boys, who are teaching him how to behave!  Hopefully it will be Shadow who he shadows – we’ll keep you posted on Facebook how his training is going.
