WHY RIDE IN CYPRUS?
We had a great time during our exiting excursions in
Lysos mountains and especially at your horse riding farm! Marcos and
Demetris are extremely fascinated not only with horse riding and your
friendly approach during the lessons, but also what we admire most is the
circumstances under which the horses are living in.
You know how I fell in love with your place over there, because you know
how I like to spend time in the forest, and how much I like the way
that
the stables of the horses match with the whole environment creating an
adventurous atmosphere.
I really appreciated that even though you have come from another country you
have learned so many things about our country and our culture and you
have tried to pass all these information that many Cypriots might not even
be aware of, through your horse riding lessons, constituting not only a fun
experience but also a quite "educational" one.
We all look forward to be there soon.

Hi! It's Jo - Who was riding Farouk. I LOVED the ride and can't wait to
come in the summer! Can I rename him for my sake??I can't remember Farouk!!!
( I'll be the only person who uses it don't worry - unless it catches on...)
So what about Forte? I like it anyway! I cannot wait to undoubtedly come in
the summer! I look forward to seeing you and 'Forte' again soon! - By the
way could you send me any pictures that you have of my lovely 'Forte' if you
have any spare time!
Thanks ever so much!

If you want to see the real Cyprus away from the tourist trail on the
coast there is only one way to do it - on horseback!
Three of us rode from the Troodos
mountains in central Cyprus to the west coast with Ride in Cyprus. From
the forested areas to the the more open landscapes we not only enjoyed
the scenery we learnt so much about the country's history from Caroline
Grossmith our guide - from the derelict Turkish villages, to the
Venetian camel trail, to the Umber mines, to the turtle beach. The list
of things to see and learn about went on and on.
Sitting on my horse on the side of a
hill looking across the valley one day we saw two eagles courting right
in front of us - how else could you see such a sight - just one of the
many amazing experiences.
Stopping for lunch at beautiful
converted farmhouses in the hills, sleeping in forest lodges, sipping
brandy sours in the local bars - the trip had everything, made complete
by the willing forward going horses, all well looked after.
So go - just book it, and if six days
too long I know Caroline will tailor make a ride for you.

What fabulous riding.
This must surely be the best bits of Cyprus, all in a day.
Stunning scenery, ruined villages, cool dappled forests and best
of all no traffic! Lovely
horses that seem to adapt to your level of ability.
I'd recommend this to anyone.

Don’t miss an opportunity to join a ‘Ride in Cyprus’ holiday !! Caroline will
tailor make this holiday to suit your timeframe and she is dedicated to
make it a unique , happy and totally wonderful experience. The horses
are quality, willing but sensible and very well cared for . The scenery
and terrain is spectacular and with so much ancient and modern history
around each corner it makes
it a
really enjoyable riding. I loved riding up and down steep slopes, along
rivers , through amazing woodland and cantering up hills to be rewarded
with achingly beautiful views. You will also find that you are so well
looked after with delicious picnics ready waiting just when you need
them. ! Go for it, you will love it , we did !

I love riding with Ride in Cyprus because the rides we go on are
really beautiful and even if we go on the same ride twice, it always
seems different.
I have been riding with Ride in Cyprus for two years, since it
opened in Lysos actually, and love it. My favourite horse is
Farouk, but I love the others too.
I think Caroline is an excellent teacher, she is very helpful and
kind.

I love riding with Caroline, she is a total fab woman, she takes me
to many places which I haven't been to before.
The horses are my guardian angels because they will look after you when
you are on a ride.
I have seen so many things which I haven't seen before and the views are
really cool.
Every time I finish the ride I tell my friends to go to Caroline's
stables to make a visit.
I have been riding for 2yrs with them, the horses are like my family and
so is Caroline, good on her.
If you want to go riding, go to Ride in Cyprus. It's the best thing you
have ever done!

I found Caroline
Grossmith and “rideincyprus” in the picturesque hills east of Paphos.
Caroline runs a yard of happy, well kept horses in the olives groves
near the old Turkish village area. This area is has everything you could
ask for in riding, whether
you want an hour, day or longer overnight treks. She caters for novice
and
experienced riders and will
give you both historic lessons and equitation advice as you ride through
deserted villages, pasture land and beautiful forests. You can trek down
to beaches or up into the mountains with confidence that Caroline and
her horses will give you a treat.

It was a tough challenge - to take 8 months of parched, dry desert out
of me and replace it with lush greenery, exhilarating outdoor exercise
and clear skies. A Cairo resident, I had given myself 4 days in Cyprus to
attempt it. The minute I met Caroline and Pawel I sensed I would easily
manage it. They took me to horizons of green grass and gave me a
beautiful horse to guide me through - Farouk was a real pleasure to
ride. We did a day ride through scenery resembling
Wales, lunched at a shimmering
reservoir and wandered back through the mountains. Pawel's
mountain-biking was no less than thrilling too, flying down through
forests to azure seas, regardless of the weather. All in all a highly
professional, extremely friendly team, bursting with joie de vivre and
great humour. Just the tonic I needed - my next trip is already planned.
